MotoGP: Concern for Quartararo

Following his syndrome of the Lodges which put an end to his hopes of victory on Sunday during the GP of Spain, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) left Jerez this Monday to pass medical examinations in France this Monday.

Once again affected by the syndrome of the Lodges, Fabio Quartararo took a first decision. Indeed, after his huge disappointment during the Spanish Grand Prix, caused by his right forearm problem, the Yamaha rider thought for a long time to take the best decision for his future. Thus, the Frenchman decided to leave Andalusia this Monday, and will not be in track for the tests of Jerez, to join France to pass medical examinations there.

Revealed by L’Equipe, the information has since been confirmed by his team. « Fabio Quartararo will not be taking part in the Jerez test today. Following the problem he experienced in yesterday’s race, he will undergo a medical check-up. We will keep you informed of any further updates, » reads the short statement issued by Yamaha on Monday, on social networks. It remains to be seen whether the Nice native will have to go through the surgery, which he already underwent in June 2019, while the French GP is pointing to the end of its nose (May 16).

« I had a big problem with my arm. As soon as I was one second ahead, I had no strength left. I fought for another six laps with the pain, but it was impossible, I had no strength left. (…) My arm is like a stone. (…) The positive thing about this weekend is that we were super fast and we had the pace to win. I am very sad, because I felt very well in front. When I was 4th, I was able to pass the others. I was comfortable, we had an incredible rhythm this weekend, but I just didn’t have any strength in my arm anymore. (…) In Portugal, last year it was a disaster, this year it was perfect. Here, I never had a problem in my life, while this year I have a problem. So it’s something I don’t understand, » said Quartararo on Sunday after the race. (…) I have to think about what to do. It is sure that we will have to plan something because it does not go, my arm does not go well. We’re still looking, but there are too many options. My brain is full, with people telling me to go to this place, or that place. And really, right now, I’m lost. «
