Real Madrid: Karim Benzema knows where he wants to retire!

In an interview in Spain, Karim Benzema revealed where he wants to retire.

If there is one player who is unanimous in Madrid at the moment – and for some years now – it is Karim Benzema. Once again, the Frenchman is coming off a great season, which he could possibly end in the best way possible with a European title on Saturday night. With 27 goals and 12 assists in La Liga, making him the pichichi of the season, and above all 15 goals in 11 appearances in the Champions League, he has carried the team on his shoulders and confirmed his status of idol of the Bernabeu.

But inevitably, at the age of 34, several questions are raised around him. For how many more years will he be efficient? Should we look for a replacement? Will he retire at Real Madrid? Is a return to Lyon possible? In an interview with the program El Chiringuito de Jugones, Benzema was asked about his future.

Retirement in Madrid is a big yes!

“It’s a question (about a possible retirement in Madrid, editor’s note) to which I’ll answer: yes, or … yes. I don’t see any other club that can give me what I have here in Madrid. You can look at all the other clubs… but Madrid is Madrid. I don’t know yet when I’m going to extend (laughs). I still have a year left on my contract, I’m having fun, and we’ll see, but right now I’m in Madrid,” said the French striker.

We might as well say that we will see Benzema wearing the Madrid shirt for a few more years, since he seems to have no intention of leaving. We imagine that neither the main player nor Florentino Perez will put too many obstacles in the negotiations so that the adventure continues for a while… However, this may cool down the Lyon team, which dreamed of a return of the prodigal son to finish his career at home.
